PHYSICAL FACILITIES
The group research and office areas currently occupy two locations in the Physics department complex. The main space is on the 7th floor of Gamow Tower. This includes the primary computer modeling and analysis laboratory (room F731), a work/meeting area ,and all our faculty, staff, post-doctoral, and graduate offices. The second location is in room C223 of the Duane complex. Therein are housed our primary work/conference area, the group library, undergraduate research and work space, our computational, filesystem and back-up servers and main network hardware (room C223a). COMPUTING RESOURCES Currently, the network comprises 19 DEC and Sun workstations and two Sun servers running over combination fiber and twisted-pair fully switched fast ethernet. We are continually attempting to improve performance by introducing new hardware and computational strategies. For details, examine the following:
